More exciting news to share! Last week I randomly submitted these two photos of the fall colours on Monte Lake to Our Canada Magazine. Today I received an email from them.
They have asked if I would be interested in producing a photo essay for next summer’s issue featuring Beauty in the Okanagan. Stay tuned, I hope they publish my story!
Most people know how much I love doing wildlife photography. As such, I am also concerned about environmental issues such as climate change and habitat protection. It’s important to protect these ecosystems for all.
Truth be told, the photography I love doing MOST are the large protest rallies in Vancouver. There is nothing more exhilarating and empowering than running around the streets of Vancouver with thousands of people raising their voices against government and corporations. I try to take photos that tell their story.
I am thrilled to announce that 350 Canada has purchased a few of my photos from this gallery and shared them on their social media pages! They have expressed an interest in hiring me for future rallies in Vancouver. My dream job!!
Today we went on a hike in Pillar Lake Provincial Park. It was very steep and was raining but well worth the effort.
This is a beautiful area. The main purpose of Pillar Lake Provincial Park is to protect this rock formation. It’s stunning!
To hike back down, it was so steep in places, I just had to slide on my pants. My camera equipment and hiking boots will need a serious cleaning tomorrow.

We are blanketed by heavy wildfire smoke in the Okanagan again today. This made for some challenging photo shoots but on the other hand, it can add an interesting tone.
Here is a shot of an osprey chick learning to fly while her parent watches. The parent had a fish but seemed reluctant to give it to the chick – I think they should be hunting on their own by now.
I have five photos in this video compilation by the Vernon Morning Star. The video showcases the smokey scenes in the Okanagan. Another bad wildfire season in BC.
This week, I’ve been focusing on one particular area for wildlife photos. So far, I’ve seen two moose and a bobcat, along with deer and several birds and raptors. Patience is key. I’ll go back again until someone is willing to give me a moment of their time for a new photo!
